What should I bring?
Bring a mat, a large towel, a small hand towel, and a large water bottle.
What should I wear?
Given the heat, wear as little as you are comfortable in, and please note that traditional sweats can become soaked. Plan to be barefoot and prepare to sweat!
What are your changing facilities like?
We have full-size showers, storage cubbies, and hair dryers available for your use. We provide a wide assortment of Aveda body and hair products, supplied by Twin Image, that are 100% natural, eco-friendly, and cruelty-free. At Zenergi you can easily get ready for your day after your class.
Is there parking available?
Zenergi has plenty of free parking both in front of and behind the studio.
How should I prepare for my first class?
You should hydrate before and after class. Eat something light, like a piece of fruit, 1–2 hours before class. Try to avoid practicing on a full stomach.
What should I expect?
Yoga is a physically rigorous activity – expect to burn some calories. Our Power Yoga classes are both aerobic and toning, so be prepared to sweat. As your practice grows and you attend class regularly, you’ll discover the additional benefits of hot yoga, such as increased lung capacity and ability to breathe, a quieter mind, increased concentration, and an inner sense of calm.
How often should I practice?
To see results both on and off your mat, 4–6 classes per week is ideal. With a consecutive 2–3 classes per week, you will start to see steady improvement.
What if I’m not flexible?
Then you’ve come to the right place. Flexibility is not a pre-requisite for practicing yoga – you will definitely become more flexible as a result of your yoga practice, but anyone at any age, and with any background in movement, can and will benefit from yoga. Each posture can be modified to accommodate a student at any level, and the instructors at Zenergi are highly qualified to move all students safely through the poses.
What are the benefits of yoga?
Life balance, weight loss, improved flexibility, detoxification, and stress reduction are just a few of the many benefits you’ll enjoy by practicing yoga.
Why is the room heated?
The studio is heated in order to cleanse the body. The heat helps you flush out toxins and achieve greater flexibility and openness in the postures.
During our Hot Yoga classes, the temperature is between 100 and 103 degrees. For our Power and Vinyasa Yoga classes, we keep the temperature between 90 and 92 degrees (these classes require less heat as there is more movement, which helps the body generate heat from within).
What if I’m pregnant?
If you are pregnant, please consult your doctor before attending a class at Zenergi. If you are an experienced yoga practitioner, listen to your body and incorporate appropriate modifications. If you are new to yoga this is probably not the best time to start.
